Summary: Responsible for assisting in the administration and day-to-day supervision and operation of the tech department. Maintain gaming equipment on the gaming floor.  Perform gaming machine installs, removals and theme changes when required. Supervise area in compliance with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) regulations.  Assist in maintaining good public relations with patrons.  Comply with safety and security standards of the corporation while orientating staff to operations and complying with pre-determined internal control procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participates in and may help lead the daily activities of the Slot Technicians.
  • Responsible for the repair of all electronic related gaming equipment including the casino Monitoring System.
  • Adhering to the compliance of all policies and procedures to the Departmental or Internal Control Manual.
  • Completes training as required by federal regulations (Title 31).
  • Analyzes any gaming equipment malfunctions and repairs or directs technicians to perform repairs.
  • Schedules, evaluates and organizes work loads to be performed for the slot technicians working for them.
  • Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of guest service and respect to all patrons, employees and GulfStream Casino personnel.
  • Assists and coordinates the design, development, and training of gaming related electronic systems.
  • Ensures all electronic systems are in compliance with the regulatory commission and casino internal controls.
  • Inventories, organizes and orders all electronic parts.
  • Accesses pari-mutuel gaming areas to access slot storage areas.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the property, as well as current and upcoming special events, in order to advise guest and fellow employees of same, whenever possible.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Maintain general awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the property, as well as current and upcoming special events, in order to advise guest and fellow employees of same, whenever possible.
  • Make recommendations in the hiring, training, evaluating, rewarding and apply disciplinary or corrective counseling to staff.
  • Carry out procedures, train, schedule, and evaluate team members in keeping with corporate objectives; specifically, supervises the operations of the Casino floor, gaming devices, levels of service, and assigned personnel.
  • Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned at the discretion of the department Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical school or formal apprenticeship may be required.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Requires the knowledge, skills and abilities to work with personal computers, player tracking systems, gaming devices, safety equipment and other identified equipment.
  • Minimum of 4 years electronic experience.
  • Ability to repair and maintain electronic gaming equipment.

The employee may occasionally be called upon to lift and/or move up to 400 lbs with assistance and push, pull, or drag up to 250 lbs with assistance.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
