In the next few months we are preparing to open a forty thousand square foot flagship location in Hallandale Beach, FL and are building our team. We are looking for dedicated individuals who can take on the challenge of our fast-growing company, bring experience and an adaptable skillset. Our future Accountant must have a deep knowledge of accounting, be able to support the operations of the business and provide valuable insight to management and executives at Corporate.
Adena Foods is a subsidiary of The Stronach Group, North America’s largest thoroughbred racing company and is supported by its headquarters in Canada.


  • Prepare monthly financial statement reporting package for submission to corporate office
  • Prepare annual financial statements for inclusion with tax returns
  • Oversee all bank accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Post entries to general ledger (including accruals, prepaids, capital expenses, reconciliations, etc.)
  • Reconcile all bank accounts, period-end inventories, and delivery records
  • Preparation of sales and use tax filings and property tax returns ensuring that statements and records comply with laws and regulations
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards; participate in internal audit activities


  • Process payroll, maintain time and attendance tracking and transmit all necessary information to payroll provider
  • Work with vendors & purveyors to ensure invoices are accurate and paid on time
  • Track accounts receivable and collections
  • Manage cash handling, deposits, and credit card transactions
  • Monitor financial contracts, returns and credits


  • Prepare annual budget and monthly reforecasts
  • Provide regular scheduled reports of labor and store level sales performance compared to budgets
  • Assist with the development of annual budgets and proformas
  • Communicate financial performance to Corporate


  • Minimum Associate’s degree in Accounting
  • More than three years of restaurant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Prior experience with accounting, payroll and Point-of-Sale systems; Great Plains, Ceridian and Micros preferred
  • Must have experience processing payroll and working with POS systems
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
