Director, Corporate Sponsorship Sales

Gulfstream Park, an iconic billion dollar gaming, hospitality and entertainment destination in South Florida is now undergoing a transformative change in a mission to offer a more fully immersive, engaging and exciting customer experience. In close partnership with our parent company, Toronto-based The Stronach Group (TSG), we are broadening our overall sales and marketing impact within the Miami marketplace in a unique, differentiating way. TSG’s core business model is centered on the thoroughbred horse racing industry, and TSG proudly boasts an industry leading 40% of the US thoroughbred horse racing industry market share. We are now looking for a corporate sponsorship sales leader to work with our sales and marketing team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, strategic and results-oriented sales leader. 
 
Core Job Functions:
 
  • Build a full portfolio of venue sponsors and corporate customers to drive a sustained revenue stream for the venue
  • Establish a sponsorship plan that identifies all the assets of the property and that enables potential sponsors to activate and integrate their brand, engage our guests and bring benefits to both the sponsor and the guest experience
  • Reach out across the venue’s market area to ensure all potential sponsors are aware of the venue and its potential as a sponsorship property
  • Work closely with the National VP, Sponsorships and Business Development to target, nurture and develop both local and national sponsors
  • Be a keen participant in various industry and sector programs to ensure the venue is top of mind for both sponsorship opportunities and for corporate guest experiences.
  • Host multiple events through the year to showcase the venue to potential partners.
  • Leverage social and digital media strategies to drive B to B marketing proposals and reinforce sponsor experiences.
  • Strongly support marquee events with sponsor and corporate guest sales
  • Be a visible and energetic ambassador for the venue
 
 
 Core Job Requirements:
  • Requires 10+ years of executive level sponsorship selling experience
  • Requires a strong business acumen; polished public speaking and presentation skills are a must
  • Must have sponsorship and corporate sale experience, ideally in the hospitality, gaming, sports venue and/or service industries
  • Must be flexible, creative and empathetic to the needs of sponsors and corporate groups. Must be attuned to the business objectives of our potential business partners and responsive to their requirements
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to lead and influence people
  • Maintains a knowledge of the local market, corporate opportunities and strong local/community connections
  • Must have excellent analytical, planning and time management skills with an ability to organize and manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity, poise, tact and diplomacy in all situations
  • This is a hands-on leadership role within a rapidly growing company; all incumbents must be administratively self-sufficient and have knowledge of, and experience using all MS Office® products – particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a similar capacity within the Southeastern Florida market; experience marketing to Latin American audiences
  • Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
